According to the latest NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ poll issued on Thursday, President Joe Biden’s approval rating remains around rock bottom as Americans blame him squarely for the country’s economic and inflation issues.
A large majority of voters, 58 per cent, disapprove of Biden’s performance, according to a survey of 1,006 registered voters on a variety of issues, including inflation, the economy, and the January 6 hearings. Sunday and Monday were devoted to the task.
Since December, when NewsNation began polling respondents, Biden’s approval ratings are among the lowest. Approximately 57 per cent of respondents in a survey conducted last month disapproved of the president’s performance.
According to a NewsNation poll, Democratic and Republican candidates are neck-and-neck for the votes of the American people.
Approximately 43 per cent of respondents indicated that they would vote for a Democratic congressional district, and the same percentage indicated that they would vote for a Republican district.
Kiel Williams, the senior data scientist at Decision Desk HQ, stated, “If I’m Joe Biden or a Democratic candidate in a really competitive battleground House seat right now, the thing I care about the most is the inflation rate and, in particular, the price of petrol and groceries.”
Biden proposes a federal gasoline tax holiday
The largest contributions to the over 9 per cent increase in consumer prices compared to a year ago were the rising costs of gasoline, accommodation, and food.
According to a NewsNation/Decision Desk poll, 41% of Americans believe Biden is to blame for the status of the economy. This was followed by the Republicans in Congress (21%), financial institutions (19%), and the Democrats in Congress (11%). (18 per cent).
53% of respondents to a survey reported that their financial situation is worse than it was a year ago.
To conserve extra money, Tim Klein, a 28-year-old salesperson in San Francisco, said he will skip spending at restaurants and motels this weekend.
Klein stated, “(I’m) simply being more efficient because I am acutely aware of inflation’s negative effects.”
Wendy Patterson, a phlebotomist from Mattoon, Illinois, claimed that increased gas prices have stopped her family from travelling to Florida for their summer vacation.

According to a NewsNation/Decision Desk poll, inflation concerns are far more prevalent than those over unemployment, COVID-19, and crime.
Seventy-two per cent of Americans identified inflation as the most significant of these issues. Next was criminality (15 per cent), followed by COVID-19 (10 per cent).
Consistent with other recent polls, the president’s approval rating in the NewsNation/Decision Desk survey remained unchanged.
For instance, the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Research issued its own findings late last month indicating that only 39 per cent of U.S. adults approve of Biden’s performance as president.
