A Republican Just Called the Roe V. Wade Decision a “Victory for White Life” in an Opinion Piece C

Elected Republicans are becoming more careless.

Yesterday, Donald Trump addressed a rally in Illinois to mobilize voters for the forthcoming primary election in the state. He supported incumbent Republican Representative Mary Miller and state Senator Darren Bailey at the event.

Things went bad, however, when Mary Miller ascended the stage and made a remark that quickly sparked internet criticism.

“On behalf of all MAGA patriots in the United States, I would like to thank President Trump for yesterday’s historic win for white life at the Supreme Court.”

What is the response to the overtly racist remark?

Instantaneous support chants from the audience.

And a smugly beaming Donald Trump in the background.

Her campaign didn’t release a statement until after the demonstration, with a representative claiming Miller was attempting to imply it was a “win for the right to life.”

Not all people are convinced.

And justifiedly so.

The first is that the overturning of Roe is a victory for white life when compared to the well-known statistic that Black women are more than three times more likely to die during childbirth.

The second is that, not only did Mary Miller read verbatim from her written speech when she spoke, but she never hesitated to correct herself, and neither did people who had heard the statement quickly correct her.

She instead continued her speech while basking in the positive support of the rally attendees.

It’s almost as though, dare I say it, she would have been fine to leave the statement as-is if the video of it hadn’t immediately gone viral.

Surprisingly, this is not the first time that Mary Miller has been criticized for an idiotic remark. In 2021, during a Moms for America address, she referenced Adolf Hitler with confidence and intent.

“On one point, Hitler was correct. He stated, “Whoever possesses youth possesses the future.” The propagandization of our children This is the fight.”

Then, prompted only by her own party pointing out how ridiculously incompetent the remark was, she issued an apology that has now become the Republican party’s catchphrase: the mainstream media twisted my words.

Two days following that speech, neo-nazis rioted in the nation’s capital.

Unquestionably, the current state of affairs in our country is incredibly nightmare-like. And what transpired at this gathering, just a day after more than half of our autonomous population lost the ability to manage their own bodies, is a strong indication that the Republican party no longer sees the need to conceal their vile goal.

Under the garb of religion, a goal that, to no one’s surprise, is rooted in ingrained white nationalism.

Daily clarification of something.

At some point, there must be faith that the tides will reverse and that values and ethics will return to the fabric of this nation.

However, continue being loud in the meanwhile. Call attention to the injustices this party’s followers will protect. Fight against the gaslighting that they have gotten so proficient at.
