According to Plumas County dispatch, Schweyer was chilly and tired but unhurt. She was assessed by medical personnel and returned to her family. Officials tell KCRA 3 that the dog was also found safely with her. Schweyer’s mother reported her missing at 6 p.m. Sunday after she failed to return from a trek. The sheriff’s office requested assistance from the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services to continue the search on Monday. According to the sheriff’s office, she was only prepared for a day trek and intended to go for 15 to 45 minutes. Temperatures in the area where she disappeared can drop into the 30s, according to the sheriff’s office.
