After he allegedly tossed two Molotov bombs at a Hollywood company, a guy was taken into custody on Wednesday.
Chiu Lee Moy, 59, is charged with second-degree arson and hurling an explosive after it is said that he intentionally damaged The Broadwalk Restaurant twice.
A police report that has been substantially redacted states that the suspect hurled a glass Bud Light bottle that was lit on fire at the restaurant for the first time on June 24 at approximately 4:50 a.m.
According to the report, when the owner called the police in the morning, “the fire damaged a yellow mop bucket and a small pipe adjacent to the rear, west door of the business.”
Subsequently, on August 13, the accused went back to The Broadwalk Restaurant and hurled a Molotov cocktail—which was likewise prepared using a glass bottle of Bud Light—at the rear of the establishment. What damages were caused were not immediately apparent.
The police claimed they had probable cause to arrest Moy based on video surveillance, information from his cell phone and registration plate, and his method of operation.
In addition, the report stated, “it should be noted that an additional Molotov Cocktail was thrown at the front of a residence approximately one block away from the registered suspect’s address.” Regarding that incident, Moy is not prosecuted.
Additional information was withheld from the public at first since it was redacted from the study.
