There are currently 2.2 million specialty license plates on Florida drivers’ cars, and more options will be available soon.
Next week, a state statute honouring the late artist Jimmy Buffett will go into force, and it will include several possible new speciality license plates, such as a “Margaritaville” plate.
As of September 1, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles reports that these license plates are the most popular in the state:

- Florida State University: 70,503
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 60,253
- Save the Manatee: 53,311
