TMZ Hip Hop declared the accusations a “pure fabrication” to garner hits and confirmed they were false. Fans were reassured by Lucci’s lawyer, Drew Findling, that their hero is still alive and well following his 10-year jail sentence from his RICO prosecution.
The fabricated claim appeared to capitalize on the feelings sparked by the recent death of Rich Homie Quan, YFN Lucci’s former labelmate. Sadly, many fans spread the unsubstantiated story, which fueled the myth. Artists like Kendrick Lamar, Dee-1, and Lecrae have cautioned the public against this kind of activity since disseminating unverified material might have dire repercussions.
Even after being imprisoned, YFN Lucci hopes to be released soon. He may be released as early as January 2025 after entering a guilty plea to charges of breaking the Street Gang and Terrorism Prevention Act.
