Early Monday morning, the city’s interim police chief, Ken Lundy, verified the details to Candice Hare of 3News. East Cleveland police have reported at least three different shootings that occurred overnight.
First Incident
Police say at least three people were shot overnight in front of Shaw High School in East Cleveland. East Cleveland police issued a news release on Monday afternoon, confirming the specifics of the event. According to the announcement, a shooting was reported from the Mobil gas station near the school around 2:05 a.m. Three shooting victims were taken to local hospitals via police and private vehicles.
Second Incident
At 1:02 a.m., East Cleveland police responded to reports of shots fired near Euclid Avenue and Collamer Street. When authorities arrived, they discovered an injured man and lady, both with gunshot wounds. Both were sent to a neighboring hospital.
Third Incident
Around 2:30 a.m., East Cleveland police officers responded to reports of a man hurt near the 1300 block of Elwood Road. Officers found the man shortly after arrival. He was sent to a neighboring hospital for treatment. East Cleveland Acting Chief Kenneth Lundy stated that the condition of all victims in these incidents is unknown.
