Third Individual Apprehended in Texas Pregnant Teen’s Murder

San Antonio police have arrested a third suspect in connection with the tragic fatal shootings of pregnant teenager Savanah Soto and her boyfriend, Matthew Guerra, in Texas.

The suspect, identified as Myrta Romanos, 47, is accused of tampering with evidence, abusing a corpse, and altering, destroying, or concealing evidence related to the case.

Details of Myrta Romanos’ Arrest

The investigation unfolded when the bodies of Savanah Soto and Matthew Guerra were discovered in a car at an apartment complex parking lot on December 26, in Texas. 

Soto, 18, had been reported missing on December 23, causing significant concern among her family members due to a missed medical appointment. The victims were found with gunshot wounds in a case described by police as perplexing.

Christopher Preciado, 19, and his father, Ramon Preciado, 53, were arrested a week prior in connection with the case. Both were charged with abuse of a corpse and altering, destroying, or concealing evidence of a human corpse. 

Surveillance footage implicated Myrta Romanos in the disposal of evidence from the crime scene.

Myrta Romanos, identified as Christopher Preciado’s stepmother, faces charges related to tampering with evidence, abuse of a corpse, and altering, destroying, or concealing evidence of a human corpse. 

The arrest follows the retrieval of a firearm believed to be the murder weapon from the Preciados’ home.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus mentioned a recovered firearm from the suspects’ residence, hinting at a possible narcotics deal gone awry. 

While Christopher Preciado was present during the murders, his father, Ramon Preciado, was reportedly called afterward. 

The victims were found with a gunshot wound, and an unborn child was also discovered deceased.

Christopher and Ramon Preciado are currently in jail awaiting indictment, with court appearances scheduled for February 5 and February 6, respectively. 

Texas Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales stated that his office has 90 days to indict the cases, and it remains uncertain whether the death penalty will be pursued.
