Multiple individuals sustained injuries in a tour bus accident that occurred on Friday in the southern Adirondacks, according to the New York State Police.
The incident took place just before 1 p.m. on the Adirondack Northway in the town of Lake George, leading to a temporary closure of the southbound highway between exits 23 and 22.
Dramatic Footage and Injuries Emerge in Adirondacks Crash
Local news outlets aired a video showing the tour bus overturned on the shoulder of the roadway, indicating the severity of the crash.
State police reported that one passenger, critically injured, was airlifted to Albany Medical Center, while 12 other passengers with minor injuries were transported to Glens Falls Hospital.
Ray Agnew, spokesperson for Glens Falls Hospital, provided information on the injured passengers. Meanwhile, Governor Kathy Hochul confirmed the presence of police and Department of Transportation workers at the scene, actively involved in rescue operations.
