In the wake of a devastating mass shooting that claimed the lives of 18 people in Maine, lawmakers are contemplating new gun control measures aimed at preventing future tragedies.
The incident occurred just over a month after a deputy’s failed attempt to conduct a welfare check on the gunman, Robert Card, who had made threats against his US Army base.
