In a significant development, court documents containing the names of over 150 individuals linked to a settled lawsuit involving the late financier and accused sex offender Jeffrey Epstein are poised for release, according to a spokesman for the federal court in New York.
The anticipated release is expected to occur as early as Wednesday. US District Judge Loretta Preska had ordered the disclosure of these materials after January 1, with a delay in releasing documents associated with those who objected to the disclosure of their names until a later date.
Privacy Concerns
Notably, some names in the documents may already be public, including known associates of Epstein and alleged sexual abuse victims. However, Judge Preska emphasized that the names of minor victims who did not testify in the case or were not previously known to the public would remain sealed.
Concerns over the potential revelation of names were highlighted when an attorney for J. Doe 107 sought clarification, expressing fears on behalf of a client residing in a “culturally conservative country” outside the United States.
Jeffrey Epstein, facing multiple sex trafficking charges, died by suicide in a federal jail in New York in August 2019, just as incriminating material was unsealed in court. A Department of Justice report in June revealed misconduct and negligence by Metropolitan Correctional Center employees but affirmed the official conclusion of suicide.

The unsealed documents are part of the defamation lawsuit filed against British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell by Virginia Roberts Giuffre in 2015. Giuffre accused Epstein and Maxwell of sexual abuse and manipulation. The case was settled out of court in 2017.
In 2022, Giuffre settled a lawsuit against Britain’s Prince Andrew, another accused individual. Prince Andrew denied the allegations, emphasizing no recollection of meeting Giuffre.
Ghislaine Maxwell, convicted in June 2022 on federal sex trafficking charges, is currently in federal prison and has appealed the verdict, claiming she was used as a scapegoat by prosecutors.
The release of these documents adds another layer to the ongoing saga surrounding Epstein’s associates, providing insight into a complex web of relationships and allegations.
