Masterson’s mug shot, captured in his bright orange prison attire, showcases the 47-year-old actor with long curly hair tucked behind his ears and a grown-out beard. This image serves as the latest update in Masterson’s life behind bars.

Masterson was found guilty in June of raping two women in 2003 at his Los Angeles home. A judge sentenced him to 30 years to life in prison in September. After almost 12 years of marriage, his wife, actress Bijou Phillips, filed for divorce in the weeks that followed.

In the months since, he had been detained in the Los Angeles County jail while post-sentencing hearings were held and issues were settled, such as turning over all of Masterson’s firearms, some of which needed to be found.

The legal troubles have not only taken a toll on Masterson’s professional life but also on his personal life. After his sentencing, his wife, Bijou Phillips, filed for divorce.

The actress, 43, seeks to “terminate the court’s ability to grant support” and requests full legal and physical custody of their 9-year-old daughter, Fianna. Masterson would be granted visitation rights.

Citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, Phillips also requested the division of all assets by the court as separate property, along with Masterson covering her attorneys’ fees. Despite the divorce filing, Phillips had previously appeared to support Masterson in court, attending the courthouse on the day of his sentencing.

A poignant court sketch obtained by PEOPLE from the sentencing hearing depicted Masterson blowing a kiss to Phillips before being led away to prison, capturing a moment of emotional significance in the midst of legal repercussions.
