Biden Mistakenly Mentions Taylor Swift Instead of Britney Spears on His 81st Birthday

President Joe Biden accidentally confused pop stars Taylor Swift and Britney Spears on Monday, his 81st birthday, during the White House’s annual turkey pardoning ceremony. It was a humorous but noteworthy moment.

The president, in the midst of pardoning turkeys Liberty and Bell, made the amusing error while referencing Swift’s international tour.

Biden’s Birthday Blunder

Swift, who is currently on an international tour, performed in Brazil on Sunday night after postponing her Saturday show due to extreme heat in the country. Notably, Britney Spears is not currently on tour.

The White House has not yet responded to NBC News’ request for comment regarding Biden’s playful mix-up, which occurred amid ongoing public discussions about the president’s age.

The poll also reveals that Swift enjoys a high net favorability rating, with 40% of registered voters holding a positive view of her.

Even the turkeys pardoned in Monday’s ceremony seemed to have a musical preference, as National Turkey Federation Chairman Steve Lykken humorously noted that Liberty and Bell are, in fact, “Swifties” who were treated to some music before the ceremony.

President Joe Biden accidentally confused pop stars Taylor Swift and Britney Spears on Monday, his 81st birthday, during the White House’s annual turkey pardoning ceremony. It was a humorous but noteworthy moment.

Biden’s quip coincides with the release of an NBC News poll that shows Taylor Swift as overwhelmingly well-known among voters, with a recognition rate of 94%.

President Biden, acknowledging his 81st birthday, continued to inject humor into his remarks, joking about the challenges of turning 60 and referencing the historic nature of the turkey pardoning event.

The polls, however, reflect a more serious aspect of Biden’s presidency, indicating a decline in support among young voters compared to his success in the 2020 election

According to NBC News’ latest poll, Biden is trailing behind former President Donald Trump among voters aged 18 to 34, with 46% supporting Trump and 42% supporting Biden.

Furthermore, a September poll found that 59% of Americans have major concerns about Biden’s mental and physical health for a potential second term. These concerns, coupled with Trump’s recent release of a physician’s letter praising his health, revive discussions about the age and health of political leaders.

As the Biden administration navigates both lighthearted moments and more substantial challenges, the president’s birthday celebration added a touch of humor to the political landscape, providing a brief respite from the weightier issues at hand.
