Bob Iger Confirms ‘Frozen 4’ in the Works: Disney’s Ice Queen Saga Continues

Frozen fans worldwide have reason to rejoice as Disney CEO Bob Iger recently spilled the beans on the potential development of not just one but two sequels to the beloved animated franchise. 

Iger hinted at the exciting news during an interview on Good Morning America, where he provided a surprise update from Hong Kong Disneyland.

Double Sequels for Beloved Franchise

While discussing the opening of the new World of Frozen-themed land scheduled for November 20, Iger shared, “Well, I’ll give you a little surprise there, Michael. 

Frozen three is in the works, and there might be a Frozen 4 in the works too.” This revelation has sparked widespread anticipation among fans eager to dive back into the enchanting world of Arendelle with Elsa and Anna.

The Frozen franchise has been a colossal success for Disney, with the 2013 original film raking in $1.2 billion at the global box office and its 2019 sequel, Frozen II, surpassing that with an impressive $1.4 billion earnings. 

The captivating story and the stellar performances of Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel have solidified Frozen’s place as a modern animated classic.

While Iger didn’t disclose specific details about the sequels, he did mention that Jennifer Lee, the creative force behind the original Frozen and Frozen II, is hard at work with her team at Disney Animation on not one but two stories.

Iger tantalizingly dropped this tidbit during his Good Morning America appearance, leaving fans eager to learn more about the upcoming adventures in the Frozen universe.

Jennifer Lee, who served as Walt Disney Animation Studios’ chief creative officer and was both the writer and director for the previous Frozen films, had previously confirmed the commencement of work on Frozen 3 during an appearance at the BFI London Film Festival

Although she remained tight-lipped about the plot details, Lee expressed her excitement about the project, stating, “Every morning last week, they carved out space for me to work with the creative team on it. And I’m blown away, and I’m so excited.”

As Frozen enthusiasts eagerly await further details, the prospect of not one but two sequels has injected a new wave of enthusiasm into the Frozen fandom. 

The magical journey of Elsa, Anna, and their friends is set to continue, promising audiences more enchanting tales and memorable moments in the icy realms of Frozen.
