In a shocking and alarming case of animal cruelty, two individuals from the Inland Empire are accused of subjecting a Husky to a horrifying and fatal assault.
The incident, which involved tying the dog to a tree and brutally striking it with a machete and a large piece of wood, has prompted swift action from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Gruesome Act of Animal Cruelty
The brutal attack took place on Tuesday, Nov. 14, around 3 p.m. in the 2200 Block of W. 3rd Avenue in San Bernardino. According to reports, witnesses observed the heinous act and immediately alerted law enforcement.
Deputies from the Central Station swiftly identified one of the alleged perpetrators as Leobardo Martinez, a 68-year-old resident of San Bernardino.
However, investigators are still working to identify the second suspect involved in this appalling act of cruelty.
The motive behind the attack appears to be a retaliation against the Husky, allegedly for killing Martinez’s fowl on his property.
