4th Stimulus Check Updates: IRS Eligibility and Distribution Plans for November 2023

Amid the ongoing economic recovery and persistent challenges, some states are independently providing 4th stimulus payments to their residents.

Recent reports reveal that nine out of the 20 states gearing up for 4th stimulus check distributions have already initiated the process through the Economic Impact Payments program, administered by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). These states are determined to provide financial relief to their residents, targeting a wide range of eligible individuals.

4th Stimulus Check Distribution

The primary eligibility criteria for receiving these 4th stimulus checks hinge on one’s Adjusted Gross Income (AGI). Full payments are granted to individuals with an AGI of up to $75,000, heads of households with an AGI of up to $112,500, and married couples filing jointly with an AGI of up to $150,000.

Additionally, parents or guardians claiming children as dependents, who are also eligible for the child tax credit, are included in the list of beneficiaries. For those individuals whose earnings exceed the set thresholds, there is still an opportunity to qualify for partial 4th stimulus checks.

However, the amount gradually decreases by $5 for every $100 that their AGI surpasses the maximum limit. States like Arizona are pioneering innovative programs to extend 4th stimulus checks to specific groups.

Amid the ongoing economic recovery and persistent challenges, some states are independently providing 4th stimulus payments to their residents.

The state’s Return to Work Program offers economic incentives to those who secure new employment, with the condition that they must maintain these positions for a minimum of eight weeks to be eligible for the 4th stimulus payment.

New York, on the other hand, has established the Excluded Workers Fund, a lifeline for those who lost their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic and do not meet the criteria for other stimulus programs.

Maryland has chosen to disburse 4th stimulus checks to those who have applied for the 2019 Earned Income Tax Credit, extending support to individuals in need.

Moreover, states like Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Tennessee, and Texas are actively preparing to provide 4th stimulus checks tailored specifically for teachers, recognizing their crucial role in the education system and their dedication during challenging times.

These state-led initiatives highlight a commitment to supporting diverse segments of the population as part of the ongoing economic recovery efforts, ensuring that financial relief reaches those who need it most.
