Superintendent’s Pledge for Accountability
The Auburn Police Department reported that five masked individuals infiltrated the school premises on Monday, entering a classroom and subsequently causing chaos within the hallways. The intruders pushed and even physically assaulted several students, leaving the school community in shock.
Swift action was taken by school administrators, who promptly intervened and chased the intruders off the school grounds. Law enforcement officials revealed that this troubling incident may have originated from a prior altercation on school grounds, adding complexity to the situation.
In response to the incident, the school adopted a secure and teach lockdown, with both exterior and interior doors locked, and students confined to their designated classrooms. Additional police presence was also implemented on school grounds and at sporting events throughout the week.
Auburn Riverside Superintendent Dr. Alan Spicciati expressed deep concern and vowed to take serious action in response to the incident. “We have a lot of students and families upset about this. I’m upset. And we are going to take some very serious action because when you make choices, there is accountability,” Dr. Spicciati stated.
