In a tragic turn, 33-year-old Brittany Danielle Medina from Indiana confessed to drowning her two children while struggling with drug influence and tormenting voices.
The emotionally devastating confession took place within the confines of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
Indiana Mother’s Disturbing Experience
Medina disclosed that she had consumed a dangerous mix of substances including Xanax, a suboxone strip used to treat opioid addiction, and cocaine. She revealed that on the fateful morning, she heard haunting voices compelling her to “send her children to heaven” to protect them from a grim fate. These voices, she claimed, warned of torture and suffering if she didn’t act swiftly.
The tragic incident occurred when Medina was left alone with her three-year-old son and one-year-old daughter as her boyfriend headed to work. She fed the children and allowed them to watch cartoons.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., driven by the sinister voices in her mind, she submerged both children in a bathtub, holding them by their necks until they were no longer responsive. After the horrifying act, Medina changed into dry clothes, went to her bedroom, and then back to the bathroom to confirm the lifeless state of her children.

The tragedy has left a scar on the community, and support and counseling will be vital for all those affected by this incomprehensible loss.
