These mesmerizing lights resulted from an extraordinary human endeavor: SpaceX’s Starlink internet services program, headed by entrepreneur Elon Musk. 

These bright objects in the night sky were satellites in orbit for Starlink. 

This phenomenon is even more captivating because it’s not an isolated event but a regular occurrence since the program’s inception in 2019.

This month alone has witnessed a remarkable four Starlink satellite launches, with the most recent one occurring last Friday from Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Saturday at 8:30 p.m., FindStarlink.com announced a Starlink transit over the Lehigh Valley. Sunday was also predicted to have another pass with exceptional visibility around the same time. 

There will be additional passes over the next few days, some with slightly reduced visibility.

James.Darpinian.com/satellites, maintained by a Google and Meta-affiliated tech engineer, provides animated displays depicting the trajectories of these satellites during their passages for a more comprehensive view. 

These animations feature forthcoming local appearances, including those scheduled for Monday at 5:30 a.m. and Tuesday at 8 p.m. 

Notably, the website also provides street views to help stargazers locate satellites in the immense extent of the night sky.

Night Sky Delights: ISS and Starlink Satellites
