A New Challenger To Startup Open AI

Elon Musk announced the creation of what he’s calling xAI, a firm with a mission to understand the true nature of the universe, after making hints for months that he wanted to create a rival to the well-known ChatGPT artificial intelligence chatbot.

On a website unveiled on Wednesday, xAI stated that its team would be led by Musk and composed of executives who had previously worked for a variety of cutting-edge AI companies, including Google’s DeepMind, Microsoft Corp.

Academic Institutions And Tech Sector Unite

Tesla Incorporation as well as academic institutions like the University of Toronto.

OpenAI, the most well-known AI startup and maker of ChatGPT, was founded with Musk’s assistance.

But ever since he stepped off from the board in 2018, especially after it established a for-profit branch the following year, he has lambasted OpenAI repeatedly and in public.

He has stated that in his opinion, it is “effectively controlled by Microsoft.” To the tune of $13 billion, Microsoft has backed OpenAI.

Musk has voiced serious concerns about AI despite his expertise in the field. A group of academics and titans of the tech sector, including the billionaire, demanded that developers put a stop to the development of potent AI models in March.

Most of the 12 men including Musk who were mentioned on the website on Wednesday morning had previously held positions at Google or its DeepMind artificial intelligence division in London.
