During a visit to the White House, tight end and Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs pulled one of the most cliched and childish tricks on President Joe Biden.
Kelce acknowledged that he tried to divert Biden in order to give him time to speak as he stood behind the President’s formal podium while pulling off a famous White House scene.
Travis Kelce’s Playful Prank on President Joe Biden
The Chiefs were given an annual invitation from President Biden and the White House to celebrate their victory over the Philadelphia Eagles inside the Oval Office after they won the 2023 Super Bowl, keeping American sports tradition alive.
Travis, however, attempted to deceive Biden by pointing his finger in the distance. Travis hoped that Biden would look without realizing anything was there, giving him the opportunity to speak briefly as the President would.
Although Travis was denied the opportunity to speak at the President’s podium, he said that, had he been given the chance, his statement would have been succinct and to the point.
Jason, a center for the Philadelphia Eagles, who is his brother, laughed and remarked, “I mean come on, it was the oldest trick in the book and Joe fell for it.”
Pat immediately recognized the location when you pointed, saying, “There’s nothing over there. If I know – I know Travis and he’s a flanker.
Kelce Reflects on White House Visit
In retrospect, Kelce acknowledged he should have simply said the words without showing his emotion.
While thanking Mahomes for his intervention, he wasted important time and allowed the Chiefs quarterback to drag him away from the platform.
