US Prepares for the End of Title 42 Border Restrictions
The COVID-19 border restrictions, often known as Title 42, are scheduled to lapse on May 11.Mayorkas asserted that the new regulation is a crucial component of President Biden’s strategy to deal with the anticipated increase in illegal immigration following the repeal of Title 42, which the Trump administration put in place at the start of the pandemic and allowed border agents to quickly send many migrants to Mexico.
“We shall exercise our expedited removal rights under Title 8 of the United States Code in a world after Section 42.”
