Every Easter, Cadbury Creme Eggs make an appearance, and many people get into the festive spirit when they spot the delectable treat on the grocery shelves.

As the firm milk chocolate shell of the little egg is broken apart, a sweet, gooey filling is revealed.

One user who was interested in learning the answer asked: What’s inside a Creme Egg? on Twitter. The cream is orange and white; why?

Others were stunned to discover that the gooey, sugary filling is actually made of fondant, which is itself made of icing sugar and a little food coloring.

The cream resembles an egg white and yolk, one person commented after the Twitter user asked the query.”I have heard that.”

According to Cadbury, the distinctive center of the Egg is made up of dried egg white, dried whey, dried glucose syrup, dried cocoa butter, dried milk, dried inverted sugar syrup, dried cocoa, and sugar.

Life changes once you know that the Cadbury Creme Egg’s filling is simply icing sugar, one critic wrote.

Others didn’t appear to be offended at all, despite the fact that one Twitter user was unhappy to learn the answer.

The world’s largest chocolate manufacturer claims that more than 500 million Creme Eggs are produced daily, or more than 1,369,000 per day, not just during the Easter season.

But, each 40g Creme Egg contains a staggering 26.5g of sugar, 6.1g of fat, and 3.7g of saturated fat, so they aren’t exactly one of your five-a-day.

Last Monday, the fast food business Subway announced the launch of a limited-edition Creme Egg sub, which has two melted and smashed Crème Eggs on thick Italian bread.

On April 7, Good Friday, they will provide the dessert gratis at four of their UK locations: Tottenham Court Road, in the heart of London; Central Shopping Center, in Liverpool; Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow and the Llansamlet Service Station in Swansea.
