One state is still distributing $600 tax rebates to eligible residents. Here’s who qualifies and how to claim your money!

Since last fall, the Idaho Tax Commission has provided reimbursement payments to qualifying residents. These tax rebates are $300 in cash for individuals and $600 in cash for couples.

Furthermore, they may be valued at up to 10% of 2020 income taxes, whichever is larger. The agency has already made approximately 75,000 weekly payments and plans to make 800,000 payments totaling up to $500 million by the end of March.

To qualify for the rebates, taxpayers had to complete their tax returns by December 31, 2022, and they had to be full-year Idaho residents in both 2020 and 2021. This includes individuals who filed Form 24 to claim the food credit return, which is worth $100 to most state taxpayers. The Tax Commission has made online tracking services available to taxpayers, and qualifying taxpayers should expect to receive their payments by March 31.

Idaho is not the only state that is distributing funds. Alaska is keeping paying its annual Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) of $3,200 beginning in 2022. There is, however, a $2,600 tax catch for individuals getting the PFD.

Two million New Jersey households will receive $2 billion in property tax rebates. The amount of the refund is decided by income, with individuals earning up to $150,000 eligible for a $1,500 refund and that earning between $150,000 and $250,000 ineligible for a $1,000 refund.

Tenants are also eligible for $450 if their annual income is less than $150,000. Payments must be made by May 2023.

South Carolina is issuing tax refunds of up to $800 to anyone who filed their returns by the February 15 extended deadline.

To get the benefits, recipients must be taxed. Those with a tax liability of less than $800 will receive a rebate equal to that amount, while those with liabilities of $800 or more will receive the exact amount and no more.
