Spy photographers in Northern Europe have observed the impending all-electric Porsche Boxster again during cold weather testing.
This time, it appears that the German performance brand has greatly increased its development efforts.
Porsche Boxster Features
The largest group of test mules we’ve seen together since Porsche started its outdoor test program in November 2022 can be seen in this most recent set of images, which show no fewer than four prototypes navigating the snow- and ice-covered roads in Sweden.
Every vehicle in the gallery attached below has a charging port mounted at the rear, similar to the one we first noticed around a month ago, as well as an imitation exhaust tip that has been added below the charging connector to maintain looks.
The 718 duo is far more practical than many mid-engine sports cars since it has trunks at the front and rear, and these most recent Boxster spy photos indicate that the next-generation car will be just as roomy with regard to trunk space.
The Porsche test team was seen by scoop photographers loading luggage into the front trunk of the electric 2025 Boxster, while rear images show that there is also a rear trunk.
The amount, if any, by which the front trunk space will change depending on the powertrain the owners pick is one thing that is still unknown.
More costly editions of the Boxster will come with a dual-motor system and all-wheel drive, though it’s probable that the motor and driveshafts may take up more trunk space in the AWD car.
Base versions of the Boxster are anticipated to have a single motor in the back driving the rear wheels.

Tesla Unwittingly Aids Rival EV Makers
Furthermore, the German EVs can be seen parked at a Tesla Supercharger in the spy photos taken at night.
In fact, it appears to be the same charging station where a prototype BMW iX2 was previously seen topping off its batteries.
This shows that by expanding its network, Tesla is unintentionally assisting competitors in the development of their EVs (and making an honest dollar out of it).
In the evening photographs, multiple Porsche personnel can be seen conversing while one of the prototypes’ front trunks is open. This could mean that the first-ever all-electric 718 Boxster will retain its front trunk, exactly like the models that used internal combustion engines before it.
The next-generation Macan all-electric crossover is believed to be based on the same Premium Platform Electric (PPE) design as the electric Porsche Boxster 718 Boxster, but no official confirmation of this has yet been made.
