In two operations, Ford recalled more than 1.5 million vehicles in the US to fix brake line leaks and potentially harmed windshield wiper arms.
The front brake hoses of the vehicles have problems, according to company findings made public on Friday, March 17.
Recalled Ford Cars May Cause Collision
The biggest of the two recalls affects about 1.3 million Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKX midsize cars manufactured between 2013 and 2018.
The recall of 1.5 million Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ automobiles is the consequence of a design flaw that may have caused a collision.
The issue from the collision is that the front brake hose rupturing could result in a brake fluid leak. Drivers might be able to see a warning light for low brake fluid. Moreover, it might change how the brake pedal feels and extend the stopping distance of the vehicle.
The defrost and defog systems for the heating, air conditioning, and ventilation (HVAC) will not function when the accessory kit is added because of the auxiliary wiring harness.
Under certain driving circumstances, a malfunctioning windshield defrosting and defogging system may reduce the driver’s visibility and raise the risk of a collision.
The corporation claims that these problems occurred because it did not adequately test the design. The hoses will be changed by dealers. Ford will start mailing owner notice letters on April 17.
They will get a second letter after all the required parts are prepared. Ford claims to be aware of just one incident where the problem was present, although there were no reported injuries.
