Zombie-style knives by SLASH IT Tech bosses face prosecution for selling online

A company is being sued over selling “zombie-style” knives online that allow those under the age of 18 buy hazardous product.

SLASH It Tech boss Keir Starmer pledged to tackle the legal loopholes used by internet companies to supply lethal weapons to criminals through foreign vendors.

Sir Keir declared that it is unacceptable that dangerous weapons like zombie knives and machetes can still be purchased on Amazon and eBay as part of his “mission” to reduce crime should he be given the keys to No. 10.

Large internet corporations employ a tiny army of attorneys and lobbyists, according to Sir Keir, with the sole purpose of defending their own interests—often at the expense of others.

Evils where money triumphs over good include the accessibility of lethal firearms through internet shops and the rabbit-hole radicalization brought on by social media algorithms.

“We can’t hope to tackle crime without getting serious about this.”

The Offensive Weapons Act of 2019 made it against the law to sell zombie-style knives to those under the age of 18 and made several blades, including machetes and zombie knives, illegal.

Amazon use to exploit a loophole

Yet, online retailers like Amazon can take advantage of a weakness by using international merchants in their marketplace.

The seller, who may be located hundreds of miles away and outside the UK, is the sole party legally accountable for the sale.

As part of the Internet Safety Bill, Labour would impose criminal penalties on executives of online marketplaces to ensure that large corporations cannot profit from knife and gun criminality.

A restaurant bartender who attempted to kill his boss’ partner with a zombie knife because he was “infatuated” with her was today given a 20-year prison sentence.

Ipswich Crown Court heard that Alexander Cornell, 29, regularly requested Claire Spurgeon, his general manager at The Miller & Carter restaurant, to go out with him.

During their five years of working together, he frequently purchased Miss Spurgeon presents, including gym clothes and even undergarments as a Secret Santa gift, which she found to be very inappropriate, according to testimony in the trial.

After a brief breakup, she rekindled her connection with longtime companion Blazej Piortowski, and his fixation with her turned violent.

The chef was waiting for him at the Parkway multi-story parking lot in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, when Cornell waited for him and stabbed the chef in the neck from behind with a curved zombie knife.
