Tuesday’s explosion in a packed market area in the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka, left at least 15 people dead and several others injured, according to a local fire service official.
The explosion occurred within a seven-story structure and severely damaged two levels, according to the official.
Bangladesh Explosion
Sharma stated that the reason for the explosion was unknown and that the death toll could grow as rescue activities continue.
The explosion rattled the fourth and fifth levels of a seven-story building in Dhaka’s wholesale district Gulistan soon before 5 p.m. local time (1100 GMT).
A BRAC Bank branch was located in the building adjacent to the sanitary products stores.
The explosion broke the glass walls of the bank and damaged a bus on the opposite side of the street, according to sources.
According to a representative for the fire department, there was no fire in the structure, but more than 150 firefighters were dispatched to the scene to assist with rescue efforts.
On Saturday, three persons were killed in an explosion at an oxygen facility in the port city of Chittagong.

Extensive Damaged Structures
Photos from the site depicted considerable damage to the building and neighboring structures, with things from the shops strewn across the street. A number of pedestrians were injured by falling debris and shattered glass.
Kamal Ahmed, one of the injured, told local media that he was shopping on the sidewalk when he heard a massive explosion. Sunday’s blast in Dhaka caused the deaths of three persons.
