Over the course of two years, the Journey to Economic Equality program distributes $500 per month to 305 families in Sonoma County.

According to the Sonoma County Administrator’s Office, officials will examine how this income affects families with young children’s economic mobility and poverty reduction.
The final payment will be made in December 2024, according to Angie Dillon-Shore, executive director of the nonprofit organization First 5 Sonoma County, who spoke to the Washington Examiner about these payments. These will be distributed to recipients on the third Wednesday of every month.
The chairman of the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors, Chris Coursey, said that these payments will assist families with young children who frequently struggle with the dual burden of high housing and childcare expenditures, which are typically the two largest household expenses.
“Anyone who complied with a series of qualifications, such as living in Sonoma County, being pregnant, and/or being the parent of a kid under the age of 5, were eligible to apply for this program.
To earn less than $42,606 per year for a family of three, which is 185% of the federal poverty level.

Others, though, were excluded or given less than they were entitled to for a variety of other reasons, but these reasons will not preclude them from receiving payment this year.
You can still claim payment when you file a 2021 tax return, for instance, if you didn’t receive a third stimulus check because you failed to complete a 2019 or 2020 tax return.
If you had a child in 2021, you can receive the additional $1,400 per dependent for the child who was not included in the third stimulus check payment from the previous year.
If you recently underwent any changes to your family (such as getting married or divorced) or financial condition, you might also be eligible for stimulus check money when you file your 2021 tax return (e.g., you lost your job).
Yet once more, in order to obtain the money the IRS owes you, you must file a 2021 tax return. Even if you are exempt from filing a tax return this year, that is still true.
Tax returns are typically due by April 18 this year (residents of Maine and Massachusetts have until April 19).
So, the deadline to file a return and receive your stimulus check payment is approaching. We also advise filing your return electronically and requesting a direct deposit of any refunds. The fastest way to receive your refund is always that. You can even file your federal return electronically for free if your income is $73,000 or less.
