Boston prosecutors allege that a Massachusetts man shot his brother in the head during a dispute over the selling of their family property.
According to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, Trevor Lawrence, 32, was arraigned on Monday, nearly two years after he allegedly shot his brother in the face in May 2021.
Massachusetts Man Killed Brother
His brother, who was 38 years old at the time, survived and subsequently told authorities he had been attacked while trying to photograph the second floor of their family’s Mattapan home.
The six-bedroom home has an estimated value of $695,000, according to Zillow statistics.
Through a search warrant, detectives found a firearm and ammunition.
Lawrence was not apprehended until the weekend, when a drug control team spotted him near the intersection of Balsam and Callender streets in Dorchester, according to the authorities.
Violence should never be an option in a quarrel between family members or anybody else, but to watch a sibling escalate a disagreement to this level of intended injury is tragic in every aspect, said District Attorney Kevin Hayden.
A judge in Massachusetts ordered Lawrence to be held without bail pending a future hearing.
He is charged with armed assault with the intent to kill, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and other counts involving firearms and ammunition. Thursday attempts to contact the brother, who survived the incident, and other family failed.

Massachusetts Motorist Charged With Hate Crime
A Massachusetts driver has been charged with a federal hate crime after allegedly striking an Asian man, dragging him for 200 yards, and driving him into a ditch while yelling anti-Chinese slurs.
John Sullivan, age 77, was arrested shortly after the event that left George Ngo, age 38, with many injuries, including a concussion, a fractured shoulder, and torn ligaments, on December 2, 2022.
Ngo stated that he was standing outside a nearby post office with his sister and her three children when he observed Sullivan speeding. Sullivan allegedly escalated the situation by telling the family to Go back to China and threatening to murder you all.
After returning from the post office, he allegedly rammed his car into Ngo, who rolled onto the hood and clung to it, dragged him for some 50 yards, hit the brakes, yelled Go back to China again, hit Ngo a second time, dragged him further, and finally rammed him into a construction ditch that was 10 to 12 feet deep.
Desiree Thien, the sister of Ngo, filmed a portion of the interaction. In addition to being distressed for her brother, she is indignant for her children, who all witnessed the act of violence.
Sullivan was released on conditions after pleading not guilty to two counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, a civil rights violation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and fled the scene of an accident resulting in personal harm.
