SNAP benefits : Texas Lone Star Card payments February schedule

SNAP benefits, formerly known as food stamps, supplement the grocery budgets of low-income households that fulfill the program’s eligibility requirements.

In Texas, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission administers SNAP benefits and distributes them monthly to Texas Lone Star Cards. The state of Texas will adhere to its typical payment schedule for the month of February.

Texas Lone Star Card For February

The final digit of your Eligibility Determination Group number determines the day you get SNAP food benefits in Texas. When you apply for SNAP, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission assigns you this number. Benefits are loaded onto Lone Star cards over the course of 15 days, commencing on the first of each month.

SNAP eligibility is determined by three tests, including gross income, net income, and asset tests, as well as household size.

In Texas, the maximum monthly income for a family of four to stay eligible for benefits is $3,816, while the maximum monthly SNAP benefit for a family of the same size is $939.

Your Texas Lone Star Card offers additional options for savings.

SNAP participants in Texas, for instance, can sign up for a subsidized Amazon Prime EBT subscription for 50% off the regular price, or $6.99 per month. Thanks to the Museums for All project, you can use your Texas Lone Star Card to gain free or reduced entry to hundreds of museums, aquariums, and zoos around the country for up to $3.00.

In Texas, SNAP benefits may be used at large supermarkets, retailers, and any store bearing the Lone Star Card emblem to buy the majority of foods, as well as seeds and plants for growing food.

  • Buy alcoholic drinks
  • Buy things you can’t eat or drink
  • Pay for food bills you owe
  • Buy hot meals intended for immediate consumption

Texas is not one of the states that enable you to purchase hot meals cooked in restaurants through the SNAP Restaurant Meals Program (RMP).

Additionally, your Texas Lone Star Card can be used online. You can search for authorized shops online. At farmers’ markets, Fresh for Less mobile markets, and curbside delivery, SNAP recipients get double their benefits.
