Social Security payments: Who is receiving check for up to $1,827 today?

This week marks the arrival of the first round of Social Security payments for the month of February. On Wednesday, checks totaling up to $1,827 will be distributed, and they will include the 2023 cost-of-living adjustments (COLA).

The rise in 2023 increases the value of these benefits by 8.7%. These checks will be sent based on how long you have been a Social Security recipient as well as your date of birth.

When To Receive Social Security Payments?

The Social Security Administration, as we all know, distributes all of these checks throughout the month. People who have recently begun receiving Social Security benefits should study when is the optimal time to begin collecting their benefits and how to postpone them in order to receive larger amounts later. The new 8.7% increase did not take effect during the month of January, and practically everyone who was eligible received their payments without incident.

Payments are normally made on the second, third, and fourth Wednesdays of each month by the Social Security Administration. The day you receive your cheque is determined by your birth date.

  • If your birthday comes between the 1st and 10th of the month, you will receive your payment on the second Wednesday of the month.
  • If your birthday comes between the 11th and 20th of the month, you will receive your payment on the third Wednesday of the month.
  • If your birthday comes between the 21st and 31st of the month, you will receive your reward on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
