How RMP Works?
The SNAP Restaurant Meals Program includes seven participating states. Arizona, California, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Rhode Island, and Virginia are these states. For SNAP recipients to participate in RMP, they must first be certified in a state that offers the program.
Additionally, volunteers must be at least 60 years of age. Those receiving disability or blindness payments or disability retirement benefits from a federal agency are also eligible to participate in RMP.
Those who are homeless and the spouse of a SNAP recipient who is eligible for the RMP can also participate.
Each state may establish its own criteria for deciding the number and types of restaurants eligible for the RMP. States must demonstrate to the Department of Agriculture that some residents with high needs are not being covered by standard SNAP benefit payments.
