SSI payments worth $914 to arrive in 4 weeks; Who’s the first to receive them?

Beneficiaries of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments will get their next benefits at the beginning of the next month.

The payment, due on February 1, will provide recipients with $914.

Additionally, SSI-eligible couples and essential persons will get a second December payment on December 30. An important person is someone who lives with an SSI recipient and provides necessary care. According to the Social Security Administration, couples will receive $1,371 and essential persons would receive $458.

January is not a payment month for SSI recipients because they will receive two payments in December 2022. Due to the observance of a holiday on January 1, the final SSI payment was issued on December 30.

The December 30 payment of $914 was slightly greater than the December 1 payment due to an SSA cost-of-living increase.

The adjustment increased recipient payments by 8.7%, making it the greatest cost-of-living adjustment was given by the Social Security Administration since the 11.2% rise in 1981.

12 SSI payments are made annually to ensure that participants receive one payment per month.

When the first day of the month falls on a weekend or a holiday, such as in January, payments are made on the final working day of the preceding month.

The Social Security Administration will give double payments to claimants in the months of March, June, September, and December in 2023 due to the following months beginning on a weekend or a holiday.

In 2023, the maximum monthly federal benefit for an eligible individual is $914. Up to $1,371 is available to qualified couples, while $458 is available to eligible singles.
