The total prize pool for the 32 participating teams at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar is a whopping $440 million. Both Argentina and France will share in a total of $72 million in rewards, with Argentina being the winner.
Argentina Bags $42 Million
On Sunday, Argentina triumphed in the FIFA World Cup 2022 final, and as a result, the South American nation will get a $42 million award. The second-place French team, however, will receive $30 million.
Reportedly, the prize pool for each team will start at $9 million and increase by that much with each victory. The overall prize pool for the competing teams has been established by FIFA at $440 million.
The total prize pool for the round of 16 is $13 million. Each winning team in the quarterfinals will receive $17 million. In comparison, Croatia, who finished third, will receive $27 million and Morocco, who finished fourth, will receive $25 million. The players receive the prize money in addition to their regular wages.

All 32 teams who competed in Qatar for the FIFA World Cup 2022 received $1.5 million in addition to the winnings they would have earned as hosts. Prize money was awarded to each team based on their World Cup finish.
