Residents of South Carolina who are eligible for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will get their payments in December according to the regular monthly timetable. As usual, depending on when you first began receiving benefits, payments will be made in two distinct installments.
A federal program called SNAP, formerly known as food stamps, assists low-income households with their food shopping.
How to Apply for South Carolina Food Stamps?
The program is managed at the state level even though it falls within the purview of the US Department of Agriculture. The Department of Social Services (DSS), which administers it in South Carolina, deposits monthly benefits onto South Carolina Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards.
Visit the DSS Benefits Portal in the Palmetto State to submit an online SNAP application. Contact any DSS county office to submit an application in person, by mail, or by fax. Select Am I Eligible on the DSS Benefits Portal to see if you might be qualified for SNAP benefits.
Benefits for those who submitted a fresh SNAP application become available the day after your case is approved. Benefits are distributed for an ongoing SNAP case on the same day each month, which is between the 1st and the 19th. The last digit of your case number determines the day you receive your SNAP payments.
