The majority of groceries, as well as seeds and plants for growing food, can be bought using SNAP benefits. Food that is hot when sold or food intended for in-store consumption are excluded from the list of prohibited products.

The benefit duration, however, can be extended if the individual participates in employment or training programs or works at least 20 hours per week.
You are eligible to apply for the Texas Simplified Application Project if your home is entirely made up of older adults (60 and older) or individuals with disabilities. This offers a streamlined SNAP application and offers benefits for three years as opposed to six months.
