Former President Donald Trump made fun of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis last week at a rally in Pennsylvania by calling him “Ron DeSanctimonious.” Fox News contributor and New York Post columnist Karol Markowicz said on “Varney & Co.” on Monday that her fellow Floridians are “really mad” about Trump’s comments and think he should have waited until after the midterms to go after his potential Republican opponent in 2024.
KAROL MARKOWITZ: I think both men are pretty popular in the conservative movement, which is interesting. But since Trump made that comment, I’ve heard so many people say that they really didn’t like that he did that. He didn’t just go after DeSantis, though.
Look, everyone knows that if either of these two men runs for president, they will go after each other. It makes perfect sense. But this was just a few days before the Florida governor’s race. Even people who really like Trump were very angry about this when I talked to them. They just didn’t like it very much. Like, don’t go after each other until the election is over. That makes sense.
Florida voters are thankful for Governor @RonDeSantisFL’s leadership that kept their businesses open, communities safe, and kids educated — not indoctrinated.
Tomorrow, these voters will enthusiastically flood to the polls and vote for four more years of America’s Governor! 💪🔥 pic.twitter.com/sAX7qe8GVf
