It’s crazy to think that Woody, Buzz, and the other Toy Story characters have been around for more than 25 years. Kids who were in the first movies are now adults with their own kids, and younger kids have been lucky enough to hear stories about these well-known characters for a long time. It’s a strange run that got one more story in 2019 with the fourth part, after a break of nine years. Even so, is there going to be a Toy Story 5?
Pixar has been wowing kids and adults alike for most of the last 30 years, with a wide range of movies set in a wide range of places, from the hero shenanigans of “The Incredibles” to the undersea space of “Tracking down Nemo” and, surprisingly, the tragic future of “Divider E.” But the “Toy Story” establishment has always been the liveliness of Goliath’s leader property.
The story of Woody, Buzz, and the rest of Andy’s (and now Bonnie’s) toys is still one of Pixar’s most loved stories, and “Toy Story 4” in 2019 will be the last in the series.

In fact, Tim Allen, who plays the voice of Buzz Lightyear, just stood up and said (according to Devidiscourse) that he needs to do the fifth part.
Because of this, we should talk about what we do know about “Toy Story 5,” like when it will come out and who might be in it, as well as any plot details that might become clear.
People have said that Pixar skipped over the Toy Story 5 announcement to move forward with Turning Red and Lightyear. There are rumors that Buzz will be mentioned in the Toy Story spinoff Lightyear since Woody became a lost toy in the last movie and came back in 2019.
Release Date
According to devdiscourse, Pixar still can’t seem to confirm “Toy Story 5” during this writing season. So, as of right now, there is no confirmed date for delivery. But we do know that Pixar has “Becoming Red” and “Lightyear” scheduled for release in 2022 and an untitled film scheduled for release in 2023.
Because of these statements and the fact that Pixar movies take a big chunk of the day to make after their official announcements, it seems reasonable to assume that “Toy Story 5” is still a long way off, even if it hasn’t been confirmed.

Star Cast
Since “Toy Story 5” hasn’t been officially announced yet, there aren’t many or any big details about the cast yet. Overall, if there is a fifth “Toy Story” movie that takes place after the events of “Toy Story 4”, we can expect that it will follow at least some of the main characters from the last movie. Tim Allen keeps talking about how much he wants a fifth “Toy Story” installment, so it makes sense that Buzz Lightyear would feel the same way if he came back.
The Plotline
Since “Toy Story 5” hasn’t been given the go-ahead yet, and it’s hard to tell if Pixar is even considering the idea, there aren’t any major plot details to share yet. Still, based on where “Toy Story 4” left off, the speculative continuation could look into many different threads.
Buzz and Woody finally said goodbye to each other in the last few minutes of that movie. Buzz now has more power and is close to Jessie the Yodeling Cowgirl. Woody and Bo Peep both heads out toward the far horizon at the same time. Now that Woody is gone, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the toys should work together to deal with Bonnie and help her grow up.

That doesn’t mean Buzz can take over as leader of the toys, but it might be fun to move away from that group: Woody and Bo are currently living in the world without any children in their lives, and “Toy Story 5” could go much deeper into this folklore to show how toys live when they don’t have children in their lives.
Also, it’s important to remember that “Lightyear” is coming out in 2022. This could lead to a whole new set of “Toy Story” side projects we didn’t even know were possible, even though it won’t add any more chapters to the main series. For now, we don’t know if “Toy Story 5” will happen, but stay tuned for likely news.
