Reason for Ben Feigin’s Death, Schitt’s Creek Producer

Ben Feigin, an Emmy-winning producer of the show “Schitt’s Creek,” passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022. He was only 47 when he passed away from pancreatic cancer.

United Talent Agency, where Feigin had previously worked and where his wife now works, confirmed his death.

He played a pivotal role in the creation and release of “Schitt’s Creek” as the film’s executive producer. Besides directing the film itself, he also oversaw its ancillary projects, such as the documentary “Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: A Schitt’s Creek Farewell.”

The producer made history by teaming up with AOL to host an event that showcased live content’s potential on new platforms through the work of musicians and comedians.

His most well-known achievement, though, was his work in securing funding for the television series Schitt’s Creek. After 6 seasons, Schitt’s Creek ended in 2020.

My reputation as the show’s “champion of underdogs” precedes me. When asked about his journey to the Emmys, Feigin responded, “After all the adversity, I, like the little engine that could, arrived at the Emmys.” The interview was published by his alma university, UC Santa Barbara, but the date is unknown.

The CEO of Worldwide Production and the Head of Netflix were messaging me encouraging messages during the show, he said. And as soon as the categories were announced, we cleaned house in every single one of them—something that had never been accomplished before.

Feigin is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara; he was born in Silver Spring, Maryland. During his time at Warner Bros., he met his future wife.
