This coming November, both BBC Two and Prime Video will begin airing a brand new Western miniseries called The English.
Amazon Studios and the BBC have teamed up for their newest project, which is called The English. It is a narrative about revenge at its core, and it chronicles one woman’s quest for vengeance in 19th-century America. It looks like it could be one of the best BBC dramas of the year, and now we know when it will be hitting our screens!
The English are written and directed by Hugo Blick, who has won multiple awards for his work, and it stars Emily Blunt, who is best known for her role in the film A Quiet Place.
The English are produced by the award-winning company Drama Republic, which is also responsible for the films Doctor Foster, Us, and Black Earth Rising (The Honourable Woman, The Shadow Line).

It has just been announced that the first episode of The English will premiere on BBC Two on November 10, 2022, and that the entire season will be made available to stream on iPlayer as soon as it is made available.

More recently, the BBC provided us with some additional information regarding the nature of the series’ content. Cornelia and Eli team together to travel throughout the West, and according to their release, the series “uses the main themes of identity and revenge to weave a truly fascinating fable about race, love, and power.”
According to the BBC, “Both of them have a distinct sense of their destiny, but none of them is aware that it is anchored in a shared past.” [Citation needed] They will have to contend with increasingly terrible challenges that will put their bodies and minds to the absolute limit of their capabilities.
But the more challenges they prevail over, the closer they get to their final objective, which is the establishment of a new settlement in the state of Wyoming.
It is here, after an investigation into a series of bizarre and macabre unsolved murders by the local sheriff Robert Marshall (Stephen Rea) and young widow Martha Myers (Valerie Pachner), that the full extent of their intertwined history will be truly understood, and they will come face to face with the future they must live.
