Netflix was the first service of its kind, but today consumers have a multitude of options to access material on-demand, making the company a pioneer in the industry.
On Monday, the media conglomerate celebrated its 25th birthday, and in honour of the occasion, it tweeted a video that detailed all of the developments that have taken place in the entertainment sector since 1997.
The platform announced that it was celebrating its 25th birthday by saying, “Today is Netflix’s Birthday, and we want to thank the individuals who got us here: The Fans!”
Although Netflix obtains its movies and television shows from a large number of different networks, the streaming service has grown more well-known for the unique content it produces.
The Queen’s Gambit, You, and Inventing Anna are just a few examples of the many of these performances that have become global cultural phenomena.
Netflix is distinguished from other streaming services in that it does not track its shows according to the number of individual customers but rather the total number of hours that users spend watching their content.
