Variety has learned that five new cast members have been added to the upcoming Apple series “Sugar,” which will feature Colin Farrell. These new cast members join the previously announced cast of the show.
James Cromwell (“Succession,” “Babe,” “Six Feet Under”), Anna Gunn (“Breaking Bad,” “Deadwood”), Dennis Boutsikaris (“Better Call Saul,” “Mayfair Witches”), Alex Hernandez (“Invasion,” “Bloodshot”), and Lindsay Pulsipher are some of the new cast members that have joined the show (“The Beast,” “True Blood”).
Cromwell and Gunn have been cast in parts that will appear more than once in the series, while Boutsikaris, Hernandez, and Pulsipher will appear in the series consistently.
In addition to Colin Farrell, Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Amy Ryan had been mentioned at one point or another as potential cast members for the role.
The program’s specific plot and a cast of characters have not been made public; all that is known about it is that it is a genre-bending, contemporary take on the traditional story of a private investigator set in Los Angeles.
Within the entertainment industry, Cromwell is represented by the company known as Paradigm. Gersh acts as Gunn’s agent in this relationship.
Boutsikaris is represented by AKA Talent Agency and Main Title Entertainment, both of which are talent agencies.
At the moment, Hernandez is represented by a variety of agencies, including A3 Artists Agency, HCKR Agency, and Brookside Artists Management, amongst others.
Pulsipher is represented by Elevate Entertainment, and the writer and executive producer of “Sugar” is Mark Protosevich, whose previous credits include “The Cell,” “I Am Legend,” and “Thor.”
In addition to his starring duties, Farrell is going to be involved in the production of this movie as an executive producer.
This movie will be directed by Fernando Meirelles, who is most known for his work on “The City of God” and “Two Popes.”
He will also serve as the film’s executive producer. In addition to Simon Kinberg and Audrey Chon, this project also has Chip Vucelich and Scott Greenberg serving as executive producers on it. Genre Films is a production company. Apple Studios will be responsible for producing it.
