Ashes of Nichelle Nichols will be scattered into space as part of the Enterprise Flight.

According to a post made by the company on Instagram, “We are absolutely honoured to announce that the late Nichelle Nichols will be joining the ‘crew’ aboard the upcoming Celestis Enterprise Flight.”

The flight is scheduled to depart for deep space later this year and will include several of Nichols’s fellow Star Trek icons. “Nichols will be joining Gene Roddenberry, Majel Barrett Roddenberry, and James ‘Scotty’ Doohan on a pioneering adventure that will be the first of its type.”
