Jennette McCurdy explains why she didn’t return for “ICarly”

This week, Jennette McCurdy published her book titled “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” in which she discusses her time spent working in the entertainment industry as a child star.

Naturally, Jennette rose to prominence thanks to her role as Sam Puckett on iCarly, in which she appeared in all six seasons and a spinoff series.

However, when the opportunity arose for a new beginning, she famously declined the offer.

At the time of the reboot, it appeared as though Jennette had retired from acting.

She stated that despite her mother’s insistence, she had never had any interest in pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.

As an adult, she claimed that she was “ashamed” of a lot of her previous work because she believes it to be “cheesy” and “embarrassing.

” She was “ashamed” of her work because she found it to be embarrassing.

Jennette explains in her book why she made the decision not to participate in the iCarly remake, and she also recalls how she told her co-star, Miranda Cosgrove, about her decision.

Jennette states that she told Miranda that she would not be participating in the remake.

“I don’t care what you have to say; I won’t be persuaded.”

Jennette recounted Miranda’s words to her: “She tells me that she feels the relaunch could be an opportunity for all of us in the cast to ‘get back out there,’ maybe get some other possibilities from it.”

In an additional attempt to persuade Jennette to participate in the show, Miranda stated that “it’s very excellent money,” but Jennette was of the opinion that “there [were] things more important than money.”

She recalled telling Miranda, “And my mental health and happiness come under that category,” when discussing the subject.

“There is a pause followed by complete silence. It’s one of those rare situations where I don’t feel like I said too much or too little, and I think that’s a good thing.

I get the impression that I have accurately portrayed myself, and there is nothing I would change about the manner that I have expressed it. I feel proud.

Our discussion comes to an end, and after making a commitment to stay in touch with one another, we hang up the phone.”

After the first two seasons of the reimagined version of iCarly, it would appear that Jennette has not altered her mind about appearing on the programme.

However, she has stated that she is “open to the concept” of returning to acting in general at some point in the future.

“I cannot believe I am saying this, but have you ever had one of those thoughts in which you’re like, “Oh my goodness, where did that come from?”

Why is something like this occurring? “She went on to explain to Entertainment Tonight how she had a fleeting thought about getting back into the entertainment business one day.

“It was probably, I want to say, a couple of months ago when I had that thinking, which went something like this: “You know what? It’s possible that there’s a way for me to take action coming from a place that’s incredibly empowering and healing, like maybe writing something for myself.'”

“What exactly does that appear to be? I have no idea. She continued, “but I’m open to the idea of acting, which feels like growth to me because I had walked away from it so definitively in the past, which felt important to me at the time.”

“I haven’t gone that far, definitely want to focus on writing and directing, but I’m open to the idea of acting,” she said. However, I am currently in a different location.”
