On Monday afternoon, a member of the Monterey Park Police Department who was off-duty and visiting a gym in the Downey location of the LA Fitness chain was fatally shot there.
When paramedics from the Downey Fire Department arrived at the site at approximately 3:30 p.m., they discovered the victim unresponsive while he was sitting in his Dodge Charger.
At approximately 3:25 p.m., according to the Downey Police Department, shots were fired.
The incident occurred in the vicinity of the 12704 block of Lakewood Boulevard, inside Downey Landing, which is home to a variety of shops and restaurants.
Nobody has been able to provide a description of the culprit, and they are still at large.
“My point is that the death of any life, regardless of its circumstances, is a terrible thing. When one of your own passes away, the agony of losing a life is magnified many times over “Chief Kelly Gordon of the Monterey Park Police Department stated.
“This is all very recent, and we are in a state of sadness at the moment. As more time passes, we will supply you with additional information. Our primary concern at this time is ensuring that the person who is responsible for this is brought to justice.”
The man was discovered unresponsive inside his Dodge Charger by the first responders from the Downey Fire Department, who arrived at the scene at approximately 3:30 in the afternoon.
Downey was the location where the incident took place. The occurrence took place in Downey, which was the location of the city.
The bullets were reportedly fired at approximately 3.25 o’clock in the afternoon, as stated by the Downey Police Department.
The gathering took place close to the 12704 block of Lakewood Boulevard, which is situated within the Downey Landing retail centre, which is home to a variety of shops as well as restaurants. The centre is also home to several other businesses.
The victim received cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) from a good Samaritan in addition to the CPR that was provided by the paramedics; however, it was determined that he could not be rescued, and he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident after the paramedics had finished their CPR efforts.
Sky2 was hovering high above the burial procession that was taking place for the law enforcement officer who had been killed earlier in the day.
The officer was in the process of being taken to the coroner’s office in Los Angeles County at the time of his death, and his arrival at that location was anticipated to take place very soon.

Downey has a funeral procession for an off-duty police officer who was fatally shot and murdered there.
The window on the driver’s side of the vehicle was shattered. It was discovered that the victim’s car had collided with another vehicle.
It is not apparent what caused the incident to occur.
