California Residents Are Receiving Stimulus Checks. Will Other States Contribute in 2022?

States like California are picking up the slack in terms of distributing stimulus funds to their citizens, even if it seems unlikely that the federal government will be issuing a fourth stimulus check.

In addition to California, the following states are providing financial assistance to their citizens this year:

California

The “inflation relief” stimulus payments, worth up to $1,050 each, will be distributed to California citizens, according to CBS News.

They will be paid with the $308 billion state budget put into law by Governor Gavin Newsom on Thursday.

A total of $9.5 billion will be returned to Californians in the form of tax refunds as a result of the inflation relief checks.

Delaware

The state of Delaware began paying “relief rebate” payments of $300 beginning in May to taxpayers who filed a return in 2020 as a result of a budget surplus.

For married couples who file jointly, an additional $300 was given to the vast majority of Delaware citizens in May of this year.

Georgia

By signing the bill, Governor Brian Kemp has made it official, giving rebates of $250 to solo filers, $375 to heads of household, and $500 to married couples filing jointly.

The significant budget surplus of the state was another source of funds for this stimulus programme.

Maine

Residents of Maine have just begun receiving state relief cheques of up to $850 as a result of the state’s recent budget surplus.

By checking this website by October 31, 2022, and filing their income tax return for the year 2021 as full-time residents of Maine, Maine citizens will be eligible to receive a check.

New Jersey, Also Known As The Garden State

Individuals who file their taxes using a taxpayer identification number rather than their Social Security number will receive $500 in bonuses, according to Gov. Phil Murphy’s proposed $53 million budget.

Oregon

According to the Oregon Department of Revenue, about 236,000 residents of Oregon with modest incomes who served during the outbreak would each receive a return of $600 for their efforts as a thank you for their service.

This is being done as a gesture of gratitude for their contributions (ODOR). Residents who lived in afflicted areas and maintained jobs throughout the pandemic would be compensated for the time they were forced to spend working in those places.

These payments, which are based on a state-sponsored Earned Income Tax Credit, are available to residents of Oregon who meet the eligibility requirements and who have claimed and maintained a principal home in Oregon for at least six months in 2020.

Residents of Oregon who meet these requirements may be eligible to receive these payments (EITC).

To be eligible, residents of Oregon must have a primary residence in the state for a minimum of six months during the year 2020. (EITC).
