Here are the 18 states that are providing money to residents in relief checks to fight inflation, as federal stimulus payments are unlikely to do so.

Direct payments could be used to provide assistance to citizens in more than a dozen states.

In an effort to counteract inflation, state legislatures have been establishing their own stimulus packages.

Additionally, some governments offered assistance by issuing child payment checks and momentarily suspending the groceries and gas taxes.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis declared on Thursday that starting this week, the state would give roughly 60,000 Florida families a one-time relief check for $450 per child.

The state joins a number of others that are providing stimulus payments to citizens in various amounts. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, the federal government hasn’t given Americans any stimulus cheques in almost a year.

Since the Biden administration doesn’t appear to have any plans in place for any upcoming payments as of July 2021, states have taken the initiative to establish their own stimulus relief schemes.

The states that have implemented their own stimulus check schemes are listed below:

California
After Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a $17 billion inflation relief package last month, which also halted the state’s sales tax on diesel and offered financial aid for rent and energy bills, Californians may soon receive a stimulus check.

Based on a three-tiered eligibility scheme, more than half of the state’s citizens would get direct payments of up to $1,050, and tax filers with at least one dependent will additionally receive an extra sum of $350, $250, or $200 depending on their income.

Individual taxpayers will receive:

$350 if their annual income is under $75,000

$250 if their annual income is between $75,001 and $125,000.

$100 if their annual income is between $125,001 and $250,000.

Joint tax filers are entitled to:

$700 if their annual income is under $150,000.

$500 if their annual income is between $150,001 and $250,000.

Those who make between $250,001 and $500,000 year will receive $400.

Colorado
Late in June, Colorado Governor Jared Polis declared that the state would send a cashback rebate of $750 for individuals filing single taxes and $1,500 for married couples.

The governor asked citizens to file their taxes by June 30 in order to receive a direct payment, or by October 17 of the following year to receive a refund in January.

Delaware
The state established its relief rebate programme in April, delivering a one-time direct payment to Delaware of $300 per adult or $600 for joint tax payers. Residents who submitted tax returns for the year 2021 received payments in May of this year, and they will continue to receive them throughout the summer.

Florida
Florida is sending $450 per child to eligible recipients, such as foster parents, non-relative and relative caregivers, and families receiving funds from the Florida Temporary Assistance for Needy Families programme or the Guardianship Assistance Program, as a one-time direct payment to help families affected by inflation.

The Department of Children and Households in Florida stated that they anticipate paying out to around 59,000 families.

Georgia
Georgia’s Department of Revenue said in May that it would start giving people one-time tax refunds worth $250 for individuals, $500 for married couples, and $375 for heads of household.

Hawaii
Gov. David Ige of Hawaii signed a tax refund bill into law in late June, granting a $300 payment to single taxpayers and a $100 payment to joint tax filers who make more than $200,000 annually. Individual taxpayers who earn less than $100,000 will receive a $100 payment.

Refunds will start to be given out in the final week of August, according to the state’s Department of Taxation.

Idaho
Gov. Brad Little approved a tax credit for year-round residents earlier this year. Residents will get the greater of $75 for each taxpayer and each dependant or 12 percent of their income tax bill.

Illinois
On July 1, the state’s Family Relief Plan came into force, offering Illinois residents relief by momentarily suspending their property, gas, and grocery taxes.

Additionally, joint taxpayers who made less than $400,000 in 2021 would receive a $100 tax rebate, while individuals who made less than $200,000 will receive a $50 tax rebate. Additionally, taxpayers will receive $100 per dependent.

Last December, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb announced that after filing their 2021 taxes, residents would receive a $125 tax refund (and a $250 tax refund for joint filers). Payments began in May and are anticipated to last through the summer. To be eligible, taxpayers must have filed their 2021 tax return by April 18, 2022.

Although state lawmakers have not yet given their approval, Holcomb revealed intentions last month to release a second wave of relief checks from the government budget surplus, with payouts totaling roughly $225.

Maine
In the midst of pandemic-driven inflation, more than 850,000 people of Maine are receiving $850 direct relief payments. Individual filers making less than $100,000, heads of households making less than $150,000, and joint filers making less than $200,000 are eligible receivers.

Massachusetts
Following its initial round of payments in February, the state distributed a second round of $500 stimulus payments to more than 300,000 low-income vital workers.

Residents who earned at least $13,500 and had total incomes at or below 300 percent of the federal poverty threshold are eligible.

This month, state lawmakers suggested another batch of $250 one-time direct payments for citizens with annual incomes between $38,000 and $100,000.

Jersey, New
Gov. Phil Murphy stated last autumn that as part of the Middle Class Tax Rebate programme, almost 1 million families would receive return checks totaling up to $500. The state government will start distributing checks in early July, and it will take roughly six weeks to process all of them, according to a press release.

North Mexico
Early in March, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham approved numerous payments for inhabitants of the state, which she then signed into law. A single taxpayer who qualifies may receive a rebate payment in the amount of $250 for single filers making under $75,000 and $500 for joint filers making under $150,000 in July.

Taxpayers will also receive an automatic second refundable income tax rebate of $500 for single filers and $1,000 for joint filers, heads of households, and surviving spouses. Two payments, one in June and the other in August, will be made for the second rebate.

A new York
Direct property tax refund credits will be given to about 2.5 million New York residents in 2022. The majority of payments were made in June, while funds from the state were received earlier this year.

Oregon
The Oregon Department of Revenue stated that more than 230,000 low-income Oregonians will receive a one-time payment of $600, funded by the federal pandemic money given to states last year. Payments commenced being made, per a press release, in late June.

Pennsylvania
Similar to New York, the state of Pennsylvania established its own programme for reimbursing property taxes and rent, offering qualifying applicants up to $650 depending on their income.

Pennsylvania homeowners will get the following sum, according a press release:

if they make less than $8,000, $650

$500 if their annual income is between $8,001 and $15,000.

$300 if their annual income is between $15,000 and $18,000.

$250 if their income is between $18,001 and $35,000.

State residents who rent will get:

if they make less than $8,000, $650

If their income is between $8,001 and $15,000, they will receive $500.

As proposed by state governor Tom Wolf, the state also has pending legislation from earlier this year that would provide households with an income of $80,000 and under with a one-time payment of $2,000 per. Since then, the idea has been put on hold as a result of opposition from the state’s Republican lawmakers.

Carolina, South
Legislation granting a $1 billion rebate and income tax rate reductions was approved by the South Carolina legislature in order to benefit the state’s citizens. According to KFMB-TV, residents who paid state income taxes would receive the rebate, which will range from $1 to $800 for around 56% of filers.
