The United States Will Continue to Help Saudi Arabia’s Security, Vice President Biden Said.

US President Joe Biden reaffirmed emphatically that Washington would continue to support Saudi Arabia’s security and territorial defence and assist the Kingdom in acquiring the tools it needs to protect its citizens and territory from external threats.

Saudi Arabia and the United States reaffirmed their commitment to the stability of the world energy markets in a joint statement published by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) early on Saturday.

The United States also welcomed the kingdom’s commitment to supporting stable global oil markets in the statement issued after Biden met with King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah.

The two nations decided to regularly consult on the short- and long-term state of the world’s energy markets as well as to cooperate as strategic allies in the fight against climate change and the transition to clean energy.

The nations are determined to intensify their collaboration in the areas of 5G networks, cybersecurity, space exploration, and public health.

Biden welcomed Saudi Arabia’s most recent ratification of the NASA-led Artemis Accords, an agreement governing space travel.

The UN cease-fire efforts in Yemen were supported by the Kingdom, which was praised by the US president.

The two sides agreed that it was crucial to settle international conflicts through diplomatic, peaceful means and to help the most vulnerable nations in the region economically and financially. The value of the concepts of territorial integrity and sovereignty was reaffirmed.

The Saudi Green Initiative and Middle East Green Initiative were praised by the US, and Saudi Arabia’s attendance at the recent Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate was welcomed.

The involvement of Iran in the internal affairs of other nations, its armed proxies’ support for terrorism, and its attempts to undermine regional security and stability were all emphasized by the two nations.

The United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia emphasized the significance of keeping Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

The Kingdom’s blueprint for revolutionary economic and social reforms, Vision 2030, as well as its initiatives to boost women’s economic participation and foster interreligious understanding, were all warmly received by the US. Greater US private sector investment was welcomed in Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Arabian bid to host the 2030 World Expo was embraced by the US. The Saudi team acknowledged the significance of Qatar’s hosting of the 2022 World Cup for the region and welcomed the United States as the host nation for the 2026 World Cup.

Both sides reaffirmed their unwavering support for the UN-brokered cease-fire in Yemen and emphasized the significance of extending the cease-fire and making strides toward turning the cease-fire into an everlasting peace agreement. King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s contributions to establishing and maintaining the cease-fire were acknowledged by Biden.

The two sides emphasized their unwavering support for a two-state solution, in which a sovereign and contiguous Palestinian state coexists in peace and security with Israel, as the only way to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by the terms set forth by the Arab Peace Initiative and the international community.

Before the next annual Strategic Dialogue between Saudi Arabia and the United States, to be held in the Kingdom later this year, the two sides decided to broaden and strengthen bilateral cooperation in all areas discussed in this meeting.
