In Louisiana, the Department of Children and Family Services, which aids low-income households in purchasing food, administers SNAP payments. The Louisiana Purchase Cards-linked SNAP accounts get monthly deposits of benefits.
Any shop or grocery store that accepts SNAP will accept Louisiana Purchase Cards for the purchase of qualified goods. Swipe your Louisiana Purchase Card through the point-of-sale device and enter your PIN to pay at the register. Make careful you choose the appropriate payment type when you swipe your card if you get both SNAP and cash benefits. You may purchase and pay for groceries online using your EBT as well.
To qualify for benefits, the majority of Louisianan households must fulfill both gross and net income requirements. Only the net income requirement must be met by households that include a member who is 60 years of age or older, or who is receiving certain forms of disability benefits. The monthly payment to each household is determined by the number of people living there and their taxable income.
For persons who are at least 60 years old and receive Supplemental Security Income, the Louisiana Combined Application Project, or LaCAP, is a simplified form of SNAP (SSI). Louisiana Purchase Cards are given to LaCAP participants in the amounts of $30, $82, or $170 per month.
LaCAP or SNAP are the only options for receiving food assistance. You can change to SNAP at any moment if you currently get benefits through LaCAP.
